অতসীকে তিন দিনের রিমান্ডে নিল দুর্নীতি নিবারণ শাখা

১ এপ্রিলঃ শিলচর নির্বাচন আধিকারিকের কার্যালয়ের বড়বাবু অতসী দত্ত তরফদারকে তিন দিনের রিমান্ডে নিয়েছে দুর্নীতি নিবারণ শাখা। ভিজিল্যান্স ও অ্যান্টি করাপশন শাখার আধিকারিকরা গত শনিবার অতসীকে শিলচর থেকে গুয়াহাটিতে নিয়ে যান। একটি সূত্রে জানা গেছে, রবিবার তাকে গুয়াহাটির কামরূপ সিজেএম আদালতে তোলা হয়েছে। এরপরই ধৃতকে রিমান্ডে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য আদালতের কাছে আবেদন জানিয়েছিলেন দুর্নীতি নিবারণ শাখার আধিকারিকরা।

পরে আদালত রিমান্ডের আবেদন মঞ্জুর করে। বুধবার তাকে কামরূপের বিশেষ আদালতে হাজির করার সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে। এদিকে, ধৃত অতসী দত্ত তরফদারকে বর্তমানে জেরা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছেন অ্যান্টি করাপশন শাখার আধিকারিকরা। তার বয়ানও নথিভুক্ত করা হয়েছে।

প্রসঙ্গত, সুজিত চন্দ নামের এক ব্যক্তির কাছ থেকে ৩০ হাজার টাকা ঘুষ নেওয়ার সময় অতসীকে হাতেনাতে গ্রেফতার করেন দুর্নীতি দমন শাখার অফিসাররা। তাকে ধরতে ৫ দিন ধরে এই দলটি শিলচরে অবস্থান করছিল। এরপর শনিবার সকলে শিলচর নতুনপট্টিতে থাকা অতসীর ফ্ল্যাটে অভিযান চালায় দুর্নীতি নিবারণ শাখার ৯ জনের দলটি। প্রায় তিন ঘন্টা ধরে এই তল্লাশি চলে।

 

অভিযানকারী দলটি অতসীর ঘর থেকে বেশ কয়েকটি ব্যাংকের পাসবুক, জীবন বিমার পলিসি সহ বহু নথিপত্র বাজেয়াপ্ত করে। তবে অভিযানের সময় অতসীর বাড়ি থেকে কোনও নগদ অর্থ বা সোনাদানা উদ্ধার হয়নি। এরপরই তাকে নিয়ে গুয়াহাটি পাড়ি দেয় অ্যান্টি করাপশন শাখা।

April 1: Arrested Senior Assistant of Cachar District Election Office Atasi Dutta Tarafdar was taken in remand for 3 days by the Anti-Corruption wing of Assam Police. Atasi who was caught red-handed on Thursday by a team of Vigilance Officers from the anti-corruption wing of Assam Police while taking bribe inside her office chamber on Thursday was taken to Guwahati on transit remand on Saturday afternoon.

As per a source, she was produced in the court of Kamrup Metro CJM at Guwahati. Later on, the remand petition was approved by the court. On Wednesday she is supposed to be produced before the Special Court at Kamrup. Meanwhile, the sleuths of Anti-corruption wing are busy interrogating Atasi. Her testimony has also been recorded.

Atasi Dutta Tarafdar demanded a bribe of Rs. 95,000 for releasing a bill of Rs. 2.5 lakh of a printing press. Unable to convince Atasi Dutta Tarafdar, the owner of the printing press Sujit Chanda informed the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell. In return, the Chief Minister’s Vigilance Cell directed the anti-corruption bureau to take immediate action. On last Thursday, a trap was laid and she was caught red-handed.

However, before starting for Guwahati, the 9-member vigilance team raided her flat ‘Shanti Abasan’ at Nutanpatty, Silchar. The search operation by the vigilance team continued for about 3 to 4 hours. It was learnt that during the raid, some bank passbooks and LIC policy documents were seized by the team and were taken along with them. The vigilance team refused to divulge much facts about this raid. After completion of the search operation, the team set out for Guwahati along with Atasi.
