Assam BJP suspends Pradip Dutta Roy from primary membership

১৩ জানুয়ারি: প্রদীপ দত্তরায়কে বরখাস্ত করল বিজেপি। নাগরিকত্ব সংশোধনী বিলের বিরোধিতা করলে ভবিষ্যতে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে অসমিয়া ছাত্রদের ভর্তি হতে দেওয়া হবে না,  তাঁর এমন হুমকিতে দল বিপাকে পড়ে। উত্তপ্ত হয়ে পড়ে অসমের রাজনীতি। এরপরই দলের প্রাথমিক সদস্যপদ থেকে তাকে বের করে দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়।

বিজেপির রাজ্য মুখপাত্র ডা. রাজদীপ রায় জানিয়েছেন, বেশ কিছুদিন ধরে তিনি দলের নীতিবিরুদ্ধ কথাবার্তা প্রচারমাধ্যমে বলছিলেন। প্রদীপবাবু অবশ্য এখনও কিছু জানেন না বলে এ নিয়ে মন্তব্য করতে রাজি হননি।

প্রসঙ্গত, প্রদীপ দত্তরায় আকসা-র প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সভাপতি, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় আন্দোলনের নেতা। পরে যোগ দিয়েছিলেন কংগ্রেসে। গত বিধানসভা নির্বাচনের আগে দল বদলে বিজেপি-তে নাম লিখিয়েছিলেন।

January 13: In a latest development, senior advocate of Gauhati High Court and founder president of All Cachar-Karimganj-Hailakandi Students’ Association (ACKHSA) was suspended from the primary membership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday.

Written in Assamese, the letter no. BJPAP/2016-19/L-256 dated 13 January, 2019 stated: ” “Pradip Dutta Roy has violated the party’s rules and regulations and has exhibited indiscipline behaviour which is against the norms of the party. Keeping this in view, the party’s Assam Pradesh President Ranjit Kumar Dass has immediately decided to suspend him from the party.”

The letter signed by the party’s General Secretary Dilip Saikia was addressed to Mr. Pradip Dutta Roy. A copy of the same letter was also marked to the District President of BJP. It needs mention here that Roy on Friday had threatened the Assamese students studying at the Assam University, Silchar for protesting against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

Pradip dutta Roy was with the Congress but resigned from the party in 2016 and joined the BJP.
