২৬ ডিসেম্বর : সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে মেজাজ হারালেন আজমল। এ আই ইউ ডি এফ সুপ্রিমো মওলানা বদরুদ্দিন আজমল বুধবার দক্ষিণ শালমারা-মানকাচর জেলার মানকাচরে এক সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে কথা বলতে গিয়ে ঠাণ্ডা মেজাজ ধরে রাখতে পারেননি। এক প্রশ্নের জবাব দিতে গিয়ে তিনি জনৈক সাংবাদিকদের বিরুদ্ধে আপত্তিজনক শব্দ প্রয়োগ করেছেন বলে অভিযোগ উঠেছে। এ দিকে সাংবাদিক বৈঠকে এক জার্নালিস্টকে এভাবে হুমকি দেওয়ার জন্য আজমলের এই আচরণের নিন্দা জানিয়েছে ডিজিট্যাল মিডিয়া জার্নালিস্ট অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব আসাম। সংস্থা এ ব্যাপারে এ আই ইউ ডি এফ প্রধানের বিরুদ্ধে একটি মামলা দায়ের করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে।

অন্যদিকে, এই সাংবাদিক বৈঠকের পরই একটি ভিডিও সোস্যাল মিডিয়ায় ভাইরাল হয়ে যায়। এতে দেখা গেছে, এ আই ইউ ডি এফ সুপ্রিমো এক সাংবাদিককে হুমকি দিয়ে বলছেন, তাঁর ভয়ানক পরিণতি হবে। এ দিন রাজ্যের সাম্প্রতিক পঞ্চায়েত ভোটে দলের বিজয়ীদের সংবর্ধনা জানানোর পরই এই সাংবাদিক বৈঠকের আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল।

যে ভিডিওটি ভাইরাল হয়েছে, তাতে দেখা গেছে, এক সাংবাদিক আজমলকে প্রশ্ন করছেন, তাঁর দল বিজেপি না কংগ্রেস, কোন দলের সঙ্গে জোট গঠন করবে? এটাই আজমলকে বেশি রাগান্বিত করে তোলে, তাঁকে দেখা গেছে, সাংবাদিকের দিকে মাইক্রোফোন ছুড়ে দিতে। এমনকি আজমল ওই সাংবাদিককে ‘বদমাস’ ও ‘কুকুর’ বলতেও ছাড়েননি বলে অভিযোগ। এরপর অসমিয়া ভাষায় তাঁকে বলতে শোনা গেছে, ‘মাথা ফালি দিম’। যার অর্থ দাড়ায়, তোমার মাথা গুড়িয়ে দেব। তিনি সাংবাদিককে এই বলেও হুমকি দেন যে, তাঁর সঙ্গে হাজার হাজার লোক রয়েছে।

একটি রাজনৈতিক দলের সুপ্রিমোর এমন আচরণে রাজ্যে বিভিন্ন রকমের প্রতিক্রিয়া দেকা গিয়েছে। অনেকে বলেছেন, এ বার পঞ্চায়েত ভোটে এ আই ইউ ডি এফ-র শোচনীয় হার আজমল হজম করতে পারেননি। এমনকি ডিজিট্যাল মিডিয়া জার্নালিস্ট অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব আসাম মওলানা বদরুদ্দিনের এই আচরণে তীব্র নিন্দা জানিয়েছে।

December 26: Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal, Chief of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) loses his cool during a press meet on Wednesday at Mankachar, South Salmara-Mankachar district in Assam and verbally accused a scribe using all sorts of foul language. The act of threatening a journalist of dire consequence during a press conference has been vehemently condemned by the Digital Media Journalists’ Association of Assam (DiMJAA). The Association has decided to file an FIR against the AIUDF chief in this regard.

Immediately after the press meet, a video of the incident went viral in social media where AIUDF supremo Ajmal was seen threatening the scribe of dire consequences. The press meet was convened after AIUDF felicitated the candidates of won in the recently concluded Panchayat polls.

As per the video which has gone viral, a journalist was heard asking Ajmal whether his party will make alliance with the BJP or the Congress. This infuriated Ajmal so much that he was seen hurling a microphone towards the scribe. Ajmal also verbally abused the reporter by calling him as ‘Badmaas’ (mischievous) and ‘kukkur’ (dog). In Assamese he further said “Mathaa phali dim”, which means ‘will smash your head.’ He also threatened the journalist by saying that he has “thousands of people” with him.

This indecent act of a supremo of a political party has raised several eyebrows in the state. Many have opined that the recent defeat of AIUDF in the Panchayat polls could not be digested by Ajmal. Even the Digital Media Journalists’ Association of Assam (DiMJAA) severely criticised the act of Maulana Badaruddin Ajmal.
