Traffic alert: Key lane closure on Silchar-Hailakandi road for RCC culvert construction
way2barak, Feb 5: The Office of the Executive Engineer, PWRD, Silchar & Udharbond Territorial Road Division, has issued a public notification regarding the temporary closure of a key lane on Silchar-Hailakandi Road. The closure is necessary for the construction of an RCC 4m x 4m Box Cell Culvert between C.R. Avenue Point and Shani Mandir, a crucial infrastructural project aimed at improving road durability and drainage efficiency.
As per the notification, the right-hand side lane of Silchar-Hailakandi Road will remain closed to all vehicular traffic from February 5, 2025, to March 20, 2025. During this period, vehicles from both directions will have to navigate through the remaining lane at the affected location.
The department acknowledges the inconvenience this may cause and urges commuters to plan their travel accordingly. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow traffic regulations while passing through the area.
