569 apply for e pass on Day 1 in Hailakandi, DC ensures hassle-free movement of stranded people
Administration puts in place reception, embarkation points to ensure hassle-free movement of stranded people
April 25: A total of 569 persons applied for e movement passes stuck up due to lockdown within and outside Hailakandi district. District administration authorities disclosed that of the 569 stranded people who applied for e pass on Friday, 221 persons applied for movement within the district.Those who applied have had their own vehicles.
Three ASTC buses have been pressed into service for movement of people stranded due to lockdown. The district disaster and management authority is working till late hours to examine each and every e pass application and necessary issuance of the same.
Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli, who is supervising the entire checking process, disclosed that two reception points at Katakhal and Thandapur and six embarkation points at Thandapur outpost, Panchgram outpost, Algapur police station, Hailakandi ASTC point, Abdullapur outpost and Katlicherra police station have been put in place to ensure hassle-free movement of stranded people within and outside the district. “Vehicles have been arranged at each point for further drop off,” Jalli added. Medical teams have been deployed at the receiving and deboarding points with hand washing and toilet arrangements.
