BJP cheated employees in the name of 7th CPC, alleges CPI (M)

October 14: The BJP-IFT government was vehemently criticized by the opposition CPI(M) for deceiving the state government employees in the name of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) benefits. The ruling party has, however, rubbished such allegations and said that the 14 percent hike in the salary has satisfied the employees.

Former Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha of the CPI(M) told reporters that, “The recent pay revision by the new government is nothing but cheating the employees in the name 7th CPC. It is only a concocted story. It was not on par with central pay scale.” He said that the assurance given by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb of giving 7th CPC to employees and pensioners of Tripura turned out to be false promise.

Bhanulal Saha further said that the revised pay matrix, which the state government has claimed to be at par with 7th CPC, is not compatible with central perks. He alleged that state government did not follow what they had said earlier in their vision document. Mr. Saha also said that before the February 2018 elections, BJP tried to woo the voters saying that 7th CPC would be awarded to them.

Subrata Chakraborty BJP state unit spokesperson refuted the claims made by the opposition CPI(M) and said, “There has been 14 per cent hike for all employees and for many, the hike was as good as CPC. Those who were at the helm of affairs for 25 years had made a history of cheating people and employees. They have no right to speak against this good initiative of the government.”
