আসামে ৪৮ ঘণ্টা ইন্টারনেট সার্ভিস বন্ধ করার খবর ভুয়ো

১১ ডিসেম্বর : আসামে আগামী ৪৮ ঘণ্টা ইন্টারনেট সার্ভিস বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার খবরকে ভুয়ো বলে উড়িয়ে দিল রাজ্যের স্বরাষ্ট্র দফতর। আসামের একটি নামি অসমিয়া নিউজ ওয়েব পোর্টাল একটি খবরে জানিয়েছিল, আগামী ৪৮ ঘণ্টা রাজ্যে ইন্টারনেট সার্ভিস বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হবে। খবরটি খুব তাড়াতাড়ি সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় ভাইরাল হয়ে যায়। এই খবরের স্ক্রিনশটও একের পর এক শেয়ার হতে থাকে। এই স্ক্রিনশট বার্তায় এও বলা হয়েছে যে, নাগরিকত্ব সংশোধনী বিল নিয়ে গোটা আসামে অনবরত মানুষের অভিমত প্রচার হতে থাকে। আর সেজন্যই সরকার ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবা বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে।

কিন্তু এ দিন রাত ৯টা ২১ মিনিটে অল ইন্ডিয়া রেডিও নিউজ গুয়াহাটি এই খবরকে ভুয়ো বলে উড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। এআইআর নিউজ গুয়াহাটি এক টুইটে বলেছে, ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবা বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার কোনও পরিকল্পনা নেই। স্বরাষ্ট্র দফতর থেকে এ ব্যাপারে নিশ্চিত করা হয়েছে। ফলে বর্তমানে এ রাজ্যের জনগণ আশঙ্কামুক্ত হতে পারেন যে, আসামে ইন্টারনেট পরিষেবা বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার কোনও পরিকল্পনা রাজ্য সরকারের নেই।

December 11: A report filed by one of the leading Assamese news web portal stating that internet services will be suspended in Assam for 48 hours went viral in social media like a wild fire. The screenshot of the news item was shared innumerable times in various social media platforms. In the screenshot message, it was stated that  the spontaneous public opinion generated in social media in favour of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) has compelled the government to suspend internet services in the state.

However, at 9.21 PM on 11 December, 2019, All India Radio (AIR) News Guwahati rejected this news as fake. AIR News Guwahati tweeted, “No plan to suspend internet services , confirm Home department officials.” A top official of a telecom company in Assam also confirmed the same. “We have not received any communication from the competent authorities yet,” said the source. So as of now, the netizens of Assam could be rest assured that the state government has no plans to suspend internet services here.

Meanwhile the Tripura government has suspended internet and SMS services in the state for 48 hours starting from Tuesday afternoon.
