If Covid situation remains same, then final year classes of PG, TDC, HS & Class X will resume from 1 Sept: CM
Aug. 2: Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, normal classes in all educational institutions and coaching classes had been cancelled since a long period of time. A few days ago, state Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu indicated that students of Class IX, X and TDC final semester will be started in offline mode from 1 September after consultation with the health department. He also stated that a new SOP in this regard will be issued soon.
Expressing his views, Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, while addressing journalists on the sidelines of his visit to Udalguri on Monday said, “Schools and colleges are kept shut not due to any law and order situation, but due to the outbreak of a pandemic. Life security is the most important aspect. However, we will keep a watch on the situation and see to it that final year classes, that is, post graduation final year, TDC final year, HS final year and Class X are started from 1 September, 2021. We shall try to start classes only for these 4 classes.”
The Chief Minister, however, added, “But if the number of Covid cases increases or if the 3rd wave breaks out, then we won’t be able to take any risk. However, if the situation remains as of now, then we will try to resume classes for the final year students of post graduation, TDC, HS and Class X from 1 September.”
