এটিএম প্রতারণাঃ ৯৯ হাজার টাকা সহ ধৃত ৩, এয়ারগান উদ্ধার
3 members of ATM fraud gang arrested; cards, cash & gun recovered

২২ ডিসেম্বরঃ ধলাই থেকে তিন এটিএম প্রতারককে গ্রেফতার করল পুলিশ। তারা কাছাড় ও হাইলাকান্দিতে বেশ কিছু প্রতারণার ঘটনায় জড়িত। এটিএমে কারও টাকা তুলতে অসুবিধে হলেই এগিয়ে যায় তারা। কিছু সময় খোঁচাখুচি করে আসল কার্ডটি সরিয়ে নেয়। ধরিয়ে দেয় জাল এটিএম কার্ড। পরে ওই আসল কার্ড ব্যবহার করে টাকা তুলে নেয়। গত শুক্রবার রাতে গ্রেফতারের সময়েও তাদের কাছ থেকে ৫জনের এটিএম কার্ড পাওয়া গিয়েছে। ছিল ৯৯ হাজার টাকা এবং একটি এয়ারগানও। সেসব বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে।

কাছাড়ের পুলিশ সুপার রাকেশ রৌশন জানান, অনেকদিন ধরে এটিএম প্রতারণা চক্রটিকে ধরতে ছক কষছিলেন তারা। শুক্রবার গোপন সূত্রে খবর পেয়েই অভিযানে নামেন। ধৃতরা হল আফতার হোসেন লস্কর, আলতা হোসেন লস্কর, রেবুল হোসেন লস্কর। রেবুলের বাড়ি ধলাই থানাধীন রাজঘাট প্রথম খণ্ডে। বাকিরা একই থানা এলাকার লোকনাথপুরের বাসিন্দা। রাকেশবাবুর অনুমান, এই প্রতারণা চক্রে আরও সদস্য রয়েছে। জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করে তাদের নামঠিকানা জানার চেষ্টা করছেন তাঁরা।

December 22: Looting people by fraudsters using duplicate or stolen ATM cards has become a common phenomenon in Barak Valley along with the rest of the country. With the arrest of three persons, Cachar police has achieved a major success in bursting a racket of ATM fraud. On the basis of secret information, Cachar Police conducted an operation at Loknathpur under Dholai Police Station and apprehended three persons who were involved in this digital crime.

As regards their modus operandi, Cachar Police informed that the arrested fraudsters were into the nefarious profession of  cheating common people by exchanging original ATM card with duplicate ATM card and stole money from a number of places at cachar and Hailakandi districts. Police was on the lookout of this gang since a long time. Ultimately, on Friday night, Cachar Police was tipped off about their whereabouts. As such, they conducted a raid and nabbed three persons.

The three persons who were arrested by Cachar Police are Aftar Hussian Laskar alias Latai ,S/O-Manik Uddin Laskar of bagha bazar Loknathpur ,PS-Dholai; Rabul Hussian Laskar, S/O -Lt Abdul Aziz Laskar of Rajghat part 1 ,PS-Dholai and Alta Hussian Laskar, S/O-Lt. Pasan Ali Laskar of Loknathpur,PS -Dholai .

Police has recovered five ATM cards. These 5 cards contained the names of different persons written on them. Further, a cash amount of Rs. 99,000/ was also recovered from them. Along with the cards and cash, a air gun pistol was also recovered from their procession. In this regard, a case has been registered and investigation has been started.
