211 Covid deaths in Assam in last 3 days including 92 on Monday
May 17: With a tragic turn of events, more and more people are losing their lives in Assam due to Covid-19. In the last three days, 195 persons in the state have lost their lives due to the deadly coronavirus. On 15 May, 63 people succumbed to Covid-19, 16 May recorded 56 more deaths and on 17 May, 92 persons lost their lives in the virus attack. The 92 deaths on Monday is the highest single day death toll in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Out of the 92 deceased on Sunday, 26 are from Kamrup Metro; 11 from Kamrup Rural; 7 from Sonitpur; 6 from Darrang; 5 each from Cachar, Dibrugarh & Tinsukia; 3 each from Barpeta, Nalbari, Nagaon & Sivasagar; 2 each from Golaghat, Charaideo, Hojai, & Jorhat; 1 each from Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Goalpara, Karbi Anglong & Morigaon. The death tally of the state now stands at 2,271.
Apart from the 2,179 Covid deaths, another 1,347 Covid positive patients also died in Assam, but due to comorbidities.
