20 Bangladeshis lodged in Silchar Jail to de deported on 4 May

May 2: In an important move, India will be deporting 20 Bangladeshi nationals who are presently lodged in jails of Assam on 4 May, 2019. Out of the 20 illegal immigrants, 19 are lodged in Silchar Central Jail and a woman was lodged in Kokrajhar Central Jail. They will be repatriated to Bangladesh via Sutarkandi Border in Karimganj.

Out of the 20 Bangladeshis, there is only one female. The lone female to be deported is Alo Rani Das, who has been brought from Kokrajhar Central Jail and is now in Silchar’s Central Jail. Border Security Force (BSF) will hand over the repatriates to the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR).

The Bangladeshi nationals are Shekhar Namashudra, Sujita Chandra Das, Ikbal Hussain Talukdar, Isak Ali, Ajim Uddin, Amed Uddin, Samir Ahmed, Abdul Gafur, Chand Ali, Alim Uddin and Abdul Latif from Sylhet while Rabindra Das, Digen Chandra Das, Shah Ali Miyan, Ibrahim Talukdar and Faruk Miyan from Kishoreganj. On the other hand, Sayed Aal Amin from Habibganj, Rabiul Saddar from Gopalganj, Parimal Jaldas from Cox Bazaar and Alorani Das.

It needs mention here that 21 Bangladeshi nationals were deported on January 19 this year. Further, apart from those 20 who will be released on 4 May, 19 more self-claimed Bangladeshi nationals are still lodged inside Silchar Central Jail. As per jail sources, process for deporting them will also be initiated once they complete their prison term.
