2 Presiding Officers admitted to SMCH during polls at Silchar

১৮ এপ্রিলঃ ভোটগ্রহণ কেন্দ্রে কর্তব্যরত অবস্থায় অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়লেন এক ভোটকর্মী। শিলচর আসনের সেকেন্ড লিংক রোডের সরস্বতী বিদ্যা নিকেতন ভোটগ্রহণ কেন্দ্রে প্রিসাইডিং অফিসারের দায়িত্বে ছিলেন আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সহকারী অধ্যাপক ড. দেবাশিস চক্রবর্তী। সকাল ৮টা নাগাদ ভোট চলার সময়ই তাঁর মস্তিষ্কে সামান্য রক্তক্ষরণ হলে তাঁকে দ্রুত শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।

অন্যদিকে, শিলচর লোকসভা আসনের সেক্টর ৯-এর ১৪৬ নম্বর ভোটগ্রহণ কেন্দ্রে টেবিল থেকে পড়ে গিয়ে অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন ওই কেন্দ্রের প্রিসাইডিং অফিসার। তিনি যখন এ দিন ভোরে কেন্দ্রে বিশ্রাম নিচ্ছিলেন, তখনই তিনি পড়ে যান। এরপর তাঁকে শিলচর মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।

April 18: A Presiding Officer of Polling Station No. 146, Sector 9, LA 9-Silchar fell down from a table early in the morning, where he slept in the night. The injured Presiding Officer was rushed to Silchar Medical College & Hospital.

Another Presiding Officer Dr. Debashish Chakraborty, an Assistant Professor of Assam University who was assigned duty at Saraswati Vidya Nikentan, 2nd Link Road, Silchar suffered mild stroke at around 8 AM and fell unconscious during poll. He was immediately rushed to Silchar Medical College & Hospital.
