2 drug peddlers & 4 drugs intakers arrested in 2 separate incidents in Karimganj district

July 10: The menace of drugs intake by the youth in the three districts of Barak Valley is on the rise. In two separate incidents, 2 drug peddlers & 4 drugs intakers were arrested by the police from Karimganj district in Assam.

Border Security Forces (BSF) at Karimganj on the basis of secret information nabbed two drug peddlers from a place called Sarisha at Karimganj. Intoxicating tablets worth Rs. 1 lakh were seized from the duo. The two drug peddlers were identified as Kabir Ahmed and Nur Uzman. Both of them are residents of Katigorah. They have been handed over to the police. Investigation is on as regard the others involved in this illegal trade.

In another incident, 4 persons were arrested by the police for having drugs. All of them were caught red handed while they were taking drugs. They were apprehended by the Anti Drugs Squad of Kaysthgram and were later on handed over to Nilambazar Police.
