1st Alumni Meet of South Point School to be held on Friday

৯ অক্টোবরঃ শিলচরের সাউথ পয়েন্ট স্কুলের প্রাক্তনীরা এ বার জোটবদ্ধ হয়েছেন অ্যালুমনি মিট বা প্রাক্তনী সম্মেলন করার জন্য। সে উদ্দেশে ১১ অক্টোবর দিন ধার্য করা হয়েছে। স্কুল চত্বরেই ওই সম্মেলন হবে। এ ব্যাপারে প্রাক্তনী মনোজিত ভট্টাচার্য ও অরিন্দম গুপ্ত জানিয়েছেন, ১৯৮২ সালে স্কুলের প্রতিষ্ঠা হয়েছে।

প্রায় চার দশকে প্রচুর মেধাবী ছাত্র সমাজকে উপহার দিয়েছে এই স্কুল। তাদের অনেকে এখন বিভিন্ন সংস্থায় উচ্চপদে কর্মরত আছেন। কিন্তু এত বছরেও সাউথ পয়েন্ট স্কুলে কোনও প্রাক্তনী সংস্থা গড়ে ওঠেনি। ফলে কখনও কোনও অ্যালুমনি মিটও হয়নি। এ বারই মনোজিতবাবুরা এ ব্যাপারে উদ্যোগ নিয়েছেন। ১১ অক্টোবরের ওই মিটে প্রাক্তনী সংস্থা গঠন নিয়েও মতবিনিময় হবে বলে জানা গিয়েছে।

October 9: The alumni meet of South Point School, Silchar is on the cards. This would be the 1st of its kind as the former students of Silchar South Point School has now geared up to meet together on 11 October. The alumni meet will be held in the school campus. In this regard, Arindam Gupta and Monojit Bhattacharjee, 2 former students said that the school was established in 1982.

In the last 4 decades, the school has produced numerous meritorious students. Many of them are now working in reputed places. However, there was no alumni association of South Point School. In the absence of any such association, there was no alumni meet. But this year, a few of the former students has taken the initiative. In the meeting scheduled on 11 October, 2019, discussion will also be held on the structure of the alumni association.
