12 more detected +ve in Cachar on Saturday, day’s total rises to 27

July 18: Another 12 persons were detected as novel coronavirus positive in Cachar as per the 3rd and 4th slot which were declared on Saturday night. Earlier during the day, 15 persons were declared positive. With this, Cachar recorded a total of 27 COVID-19 positive cases on 18 July.

As per the 3rd slot, particulars of 8 positive persons were provided by the district health department. They are Tapan Ghosh (55) from Rangirkhari and Gayatri Deb (18) from Tarapur. Both of them exhibited symptoms related to Influenza Like Illness (ILI) and provided their swab samples on 17 July. Their reports came on 18 July and they were detected as COVID-19 positive. Both these two patients are symptomatic. Jishnu Das (40) from Kalain CHC was also tested positive during the day. He was detected positive through contact tracing. He is asymptomatic.

Further, 5 persons were tested positive from Katirail in Cachar. All of them are asymptomatic and came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. They are Sarup Choudhury (20), Debashish Choudhury (40), Shibasish Choudhury (48), Anima Choudhury (78) and Rinki Deb (33). Their swab samples were collected on 17 July.

As per the 4th slot, 4 more persons were detected as COVID-19 positive. They are Sayan Bhuiya (22) from National Highway, Silchar. He travelled by air from Noida and was tested positive. He is asymptomatic. Three more positive patients were detected from Katirail in Cachar. They also came in direct contact with high risk lab confirmed case. They are Sunarjit Chakraborty (59), Dulu Deb (57) and Prova Deb (76). All of them are symptomatic.

It needs mention here that District Media Expert Suman Choudhury informed that a total of 37 persons were detected positive in Cachar district on Friday (including one women who was declared positive posthumously).
