12 tests +ve in Cachar on Tuesday, tally reaches 10,822
Active cases 124 in Cachar
Nov. 24: On Tuesday, a total of 12 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Cachar. During the day, a total of 1377 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done, out of which, 09 persons were found positive, whereas 03 persons were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. This was informed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Ahmed, District Surveillance Officer (DSO), IDSP, Cachar on Tuesday night.
With this, the district tally of coronavirus has now gone upto 10,822. Further, a total of 10,661 patients were discharged in the district as of now. Cachar registered a total of 37 COVID-19 deaths till now. At present, there are 124 active cases in the district. It needs mention here that 07 persons were found positive in Cachar on Monday.
In his daily briefing, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) on Tuesday said that in the last 24 hours, Throat swab of another 295 persons were collected. 216 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, out of which, 03 tested positive. Further, 460 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done at SMCH in the last 24 hours, out of which, 02 were found positive.
Apart from this, 01 new patient of COVID-19 was admitted at SMCH in the last 24 hours and none were discharged. At present, there are 16 active patients at SMCH, out of which, 03 of them are critical. The patients who are at present in critical condition are: Sukumari Teli, Molina Bhattacharjee and Rimpi Rani. A total of 10 patients are admitted in ICU, whereas 2 of them are put under oxygen support.
Dr. Gupta further informed that in the last 24 hours, none have died due to COVID-19 at SMCH. As of now, there were 173 COVID related deaths in SMCH. Of the 173 deaths, 63 of them were certified by the State Death Audit Board as COVID-19 confirmed deaths.
