₹35 lakh reward announced for medical team who treated Manipur’s 1st COVID-19 patient
April 11: Following the hard work put in by the medical team of JNIMS Hospital in Imphal, Manipur’s first COVID-19 patient recovering from the deadly coronavirus. Acknowledging the talents and potential of the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff of the State, Chief Minister N Biren Singh appreciated the team of JNIMS who have treated the first COVID-19 patient of the State successfully.
On April 6, the girl, a resident of Imphal West, was declared free from the virus after she tested negative twice for COVID-19, as per health minister L Jayantakumar Singh. The girl, who has a travel history to London, has became the first cured person from coronavirus in Northeast India.
The chief minister acknowledged the talents and potential of the doctors, nurses and paramedical staffs of the state while appreciating the medical team that treated the first COVID-19 patient successfully. He expressed gratitude to the team for their tireless work and announced that the government would give a cash reward of Rs 35 lakh to the team.
