TDC exam fees increased, protest by AIDSO

১৫ সেপ্টেম্বর : স্নাতক স্তরে কলেজে সেমিস্টার পরীক্ষার ফি বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ। এ নিয়ে প্রতিবাদমুখর হয়েছে সারা ভারত গণতান্ত্রিক ছাত্র সংস্থা অর্থাৎ এআইডিএসও।

ছাত্র সংস্থার কাছাড় জেলা কমিটি শনিবার জেলাশাসকের কার্যালয়ের সামনে বিক্ষোভ প্রদর্শন করেছে। উদ্দেশ্য, জেলা প্রশাসনকে বিষয়টি জানিয়ে রাখা। এতে বিভিন্ন কলেজের পড়ুয়ারা প্লে-কার্ড হাতে নিয়ে শামিল ছিল। ছাত্রছাত্রীরা তাদের দাবি আদায়ে একের পর এক স্লোগান দেয়।

এর আগে অবশ্য শুক্রবার আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্যকে এ নিয়ে একটি স্মারকপত্র পাঠিয়েছে এআইডিএসও। ছাত্র সংস্থাটি স্মারকপত্রে উল্লেখ করেছে, টিডিসি কোর্সের পরীক্ষার ফি হঠাৎ অযৌক্তিকভাবে কোনও কারণ ছাড়া বাড়িয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। আর এতে খুব অসুবিধায় পড়েছে গরিব পরিবারের ছেলেমেয়েরা। তাছাড়া নতুন সেমিস্টার পরীক্ষার ধরনে প্রতি বছর একজন পড়ুয়াকে দুটি ফাইনাল পরীক্ষায় বসতেই হয়। কিন্তু এ বার আর্থিক কারণে বহু পড়ুয়া কলেজ ছাড়তে বাধ্য হবে। উপাচার্যকে বিষয়টি সহানুভূতির সঙ্গে বিবেচনা করার অনুরোধও জানিয়েছে ছাত্রসংস্থা।

অন্যদিকে, এআইডিএস-র কাছাড় জেলা কমিটির সম্পাদক গৌরচন্দ্র দাস প্রতিক্রিয়া ব্যক্ত করে বলেছেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ কোনও পদক্ষেপ না নিলে তারা আন্দোলনে যেতে বাধ্য হবেন। ছাত্র সংস্থার পক্ষে তিনি হুমকি দেন, অবিলম্বে বর্ধিত ফি প্রত্যাহার করা না হলে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধীনে থাকা সব কলেজের পড়ুয়াদের ঐক্যবদ্ধ করে জোরদার ছাত্র আন্দোলন গড়ে তোলা হবে। তিনি বলেন, এতে বিশৃঙ্খল পরিস্থিতির সৃষ্টি হলে আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কর্তৃপক্ষ এর জন্য দায়ী থাকবে। তিনি বিভিন্ন ছাত্র সংগঠন এবং অভিভাবকদেরও এগিয়ে আসার আহ্বান জানান।

শনিবার বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচিতে ছাত্র সংস্থার পক্ষে প্রশান্ত ভট্টাচার্য, পল্লব ভট্টাচার্য, ডোনা বর্মন, বাবলি দাস সহ প্রচুর সংখ্যক ছাত্রছাত্রী উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

September 15: The end semester examination fees for Three Years Degree Course (TDC) at college level have been enhanced by Assam University. This was resented by All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO). The Cachar District Committee of AIDSO protested this move of the university in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner on Saturday. The objective behind this protest was to make the Deputy Commissioner aware of this fact. Students from different colleges joined this protest. With placards in their hands, they raised different slogans.

Prior to this, on last Friday, AIDSO gave a memorandum to the Vice Chancellor of Assam University. In the memorandum, they have alleged that the examination fees of TDC was increased all of a sudden without any reason. This has become a major cause of concern for the poor students. It was stated that in the semester system, a student has to appear in two examinations in a year, that is, even and odd semester. But now as the fees has been increased so it has become impossible for many students to continue their studies. AIDSO has requested the Vice Chancellor to look into this matter with seriously.

While speaking during the protest demonstration on Saturday, Gaur Chandra Das, Secretary of Cachar district committee of AIDSO said that if the university authority fails to take any positive action, then they will be bound to resort to agitation. He warned that, if the TDC exam fees structure is not decretased then they will involve the students of all the colleges and launch a vigorous movement. He cautioned that if in the process chaos occurs, then the university authority will be responsible for it. He appealed to the vatious students association and guardians to join them in this effort.

Present during the protest demonstration were Prashanta Bhattacharjee, Pallabh Bhattacharjee, Dona Barman, Babli Das and many other students from various colleges.
