মঙ্গলবার শিলচরে ই রিক্সার মিছিল
E-rickshaws to take out protest rally at Silchar on Tuesday

শিলচর শহরে ই-রিক্সা চলাচল বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার প্রতিবাদে আন্দোলনের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে ই-রিক্সা মালিক ও চালক সংস্থা। এর অঙ্গ হিসেবে মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে শিলচর শহরে এক বিশাল মিছিল বের করা হবে। শহরের আশ্রম রোড থেকে এই মিছিল শহর পরিক্রমা করে যাবে জেলাশাসকের কার্যালয়ের সামনে।

এই মিছিলে হাজার খানেক ই রিক্সা অংশ নেবে বলে অনুমান করা হচ্ছে। প্রসঙ্গত, ই রিক্সা চলাচলে নিষেধাজ্ঞা জারি করে গত কয়েক দিন থেকে শহরে ব্যাপক ধরপাকড় শুরু করেছে জেলা প্রশাসন ও জেলা পরিবহণ বিভাগ। এর ফলেই এ বার মিছিল করে প্রতিবাদ জানাবেন ই রিক্সা মালিক ও চালকরা।

E-rickshaws were debarred from entering Silchar town. As a sequel to it, both District administration and District Transport Department are conducting raids at various parts of the town. In these raids, e-rickshaws found ferrying passengers in the streets of the town were taken into custody.

As a mark of protest, the e-rickshaw owners & drivers association have decided to launch a joint movement. On Tuesday afternoon, a huge rally will be taken out from Ashram Road, Silchar. The rally of the e-rickshaws will pass through the major points of the town and will finally reach near the office of the Deputy Commissioner. It is estimated that around 1000 e-rickshaws will participate in this protest rally.
