Crisis in Bengal Tele-industry: Old episodes aired on private channels

দুদিন ধরে কলকাতার কোনও বেসরকারি বিনোদন চ্যানেলে নতুন অনুষ্ঠান দেখা যাচ্ছে না। নির্ধারিত সূচি মেনে ধারাবাহিকগুলি চালানো হচ্ছে বটে, কিন্তু সব পুরনো, আগের অংশগুলিই ফের দেখানো হচ্ছে। দর্শকরা বিভ্রান্তিতে ছিলেন, প্রাক্তন প্রধানমন্ত্রীর মৃত্যুতে রাষ্ট্রীয় শোকের জন্য এমনটা হচ্ছে নাকি, কোনও প্রযুক্তিগত সমস্যা। আজ আর্টিস্ট ফোরাম বিষয়টি পরিষ্কার করে দিয়েছে। আসলে শুধু দুদিন নয়, গত শনিবার থেকে বাংলার টেলিশিল্পে অচলাবস্থা দেখা দিয়েছে। বিরোধ চলছে প্রযোজক বনাম শিল্পী-কলাকুশলী। শিল্পীদের দাবি, বকেয়া পাওনা মিটিয়ে দিতে হবে। সঙ্গে কাজের সময়সীমা বেঁধে দিতে হবে। প্রযোজকদের পক্ষ থেকে বকেয়া মিটিয়ে দেওয়ার অঙ্গীকার করা হলেও অন্য সব ব্যাপারে তাঁরা কথা বলছেন না। শিল্পীদের ওপর দোষ চাপিয়ে প্রযোজকরা বলে বেড়াচ্ছেন, আর্টিস্ট ফোরামের জন্যই অনুষ্ঠান দেখানো যাচ্ছে না। এরা ধর্মঘট করে বসে রয়েছে। আজ সাংবাদিক সম্মেলন করে এরই তীব্র প্রতিবাদ করেছে ফোরাম। প্রসেনজিত চট্টোপাধ্যায় ও জিত গঙ্গোপাধ্যায় সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, নিঃশর্তে কাজ শুরু করতে বলা হোক, আমরা এখনই তৈরি। কাল থেকেই শ্যুটিংয়ে নেমে পড়ব। সঙ্গে চলবে দাবি আদায়ের আলোচনা। তাঁদের কথায়, আর্টিস্ট ফোরাম কাজ করছে না, বক্তব্যটা ঠিক নয়। কাজ বন্ধ করেছেন প্রযোজকরাই।

আজ আর্টিস্ট ফোরামের সাধারণ সভা হয় নজরুল সভামঞ্চে। ১২০০-র বেশি শিল্পী-কলাকুশলী তাতে অংশ নিয়ে প্রযোজকদের বিরুদ্ধে ক্ষোভ ঝাড়েন। কিন্তু এই বিরোধের অবসান কবে, কেউ জবাব দিতে পারলেন না।

Since the last two days, no new episodes are aired in the private entertainment channels of Kolkata. The viewers were at first confused. Many thought that the old episodes were shown may be due to some technical problems. However, the Artists Forum clarified the matter today. Infact, this crisis in the tele-industry of Bengal has started since last Saturday.

The real matter is the ongoing conflict between the producers and artists-technicians. The artists have demanded that their arrear payment should be given to them. Though the producers have agreed to clear the arrears but at the same time they were reluctant to talk on the other issues. The producers were accusing the artists’ forum for this stalemate situation.

Speaking to the media, Prasenjit Chatterjee and Jeet Gangully said that let us be asked to start working without any pre-condition. They said that in that case, they will start shooting from tomorrow itself. They clearly said that there is no truth in the allegation made by the producers that the “artist forum is not working.” The reality is that the producers themselves have stopped the work. Today the general meeting of the Artist Forum was held at Nazrul Meeting Hall, Kolkata. More than 1200 artists and technicians attended the meeting. But none were able to say when this crisis would be solved.
