Accountant arrested at Hailakandi for hiding files

ফাইল সরানোর অভিযোগে গ্রেফতার হলেন হাইলাকান্দি ব্লক অফিসের অ্যাকাউন্টেন্ট বিশ্বরঞ্জন ভৌমিক। তবে গতকাল গভীর রাত থেকে তন্ন তন্ন করে খুঁজেও ওই ফাইলের হদিশ মেলেনি। তার বদলে মিলেছে অন্যান্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ নথি ও তথ্য। ২০১৬-১৭ অর্থবর্ষের আনটাইড ফান্ডের অর্থে হাইলাকান্দি ব্লকে ব্যাপক দুর্নীতি হয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ। এ নিয়ে প্রাথমিক তদন্তে নেমেই বিডিও সুস্মিতা দাম বিস্মিত। অর্থকড়ি সংক্রান্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ফাইলই খুঁজে পাওয়া যাচ্ছে না ব্লক অফিসে। বিভাগীয় নিয়ম অনুসারেই এই ফাইল থাকার কথা বিশ্বরঞ্জনবাবুর কাছে। কিন্তু তাঁর কাছ থেকে কোনও ধরনের সহযোগিতা না পেয়ে বিডিও পুলিশের কাছে এজাহার দেন। সরাসরি অ্যাকাউন্টেন্টকেই অভিযুক্ত করেন। পুলিশ গভীর রাতে তাকে বাড়ি থেকে তুলে নিলে তিনি অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন। পরে হাইলাকান্দি সিভিল হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। এখন সেখানেই চিকিতসাধীন ধৃত বিশ্বরঞ্জন ভৌমিক।

September 27: Accountant of Hailakandi Block office, Biswa Ranjan Bhoumick was arrested on charges of intentionally misplacing files. All were busy searching the file till late in the night. However, in the process of searching the file, many other important documents were unearthed. It has been alleged that there was mass corruption in the money released for untied fund in Hailakandi Block. While conducting preliminary investigation, BDO Sushmita Dam was surprised. The file which was missing from the Block office contained all accounts of the untied fund. As per the norms, the said file was supposed to be in the custody of the accountant Biswa Ranjan Bhoumick. However, when he was not cooperating with BDO while searching the file, so ultimately the BDO lodged a complaint with the police. Police arrested Biswa Ranjan Bhoumick on the basis of that complaint.
