SBI donates garbage cleaning van to Silchar Municipality

১ অক্টোবর : স্বচ্ছতাই সেবা প্রকল্পের আওতায় মঙ্গলবার গান্ধীজির জন্মদিনে স্টেট ব্যাংকের শিলচর আঞ্চলিক কার্যালয় এক কর্মসূচি হাতে নেয়। এ দিন সকালে ব্যাংক কর্মীরা ডিসি বাংলো পয়েন্ট থেকে রেডক্রস হাসপাতাল পর্যন্ত রাস্তায় সাফাই করেন।
পাশাপাশি জেলা প্রশাসনের দিকেও সহযোগিতার হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয় ব্যাংক।

মঙ্গলবার বিকেলে জিসি কলেজ অডিটোরিয়ামে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে ব্যাংকের পক্ষ থেকে জেলা প্রশাসনকে একটি গারবেজ ক্লিনিং ভেহিকল প্রদান করা হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত পুরপতি নীহারেন্দ্র নারায়ণ ঠাকুর ও বর্ষীয়ান বিজেপি নেতা কবীন্দ্র পুরকায়স্থের হাতে এটি তুলে দেন স্টেট ব্যাংকের রিজিওনাল ম্যানেজার বিনয় ভূষণ দাস। এই অনুষ্ঠানে ব্যাংকের অন্য আধিকারিকরাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

প্রসঙ্গত, সিএসআর প্রকল্পের আওতায় এই কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করেছে স্টেট ব্যাংক। এর আগেও একাধিক সমাজ কল্যাণমূলক কাজে অংশ নিয়ে ব্যাংক নজির সৃষ্টি করেছে। এর পাশাপাশি কিছুদিন আগেও ক্যান্সার হাসপাতালকে প্রায় দেড় কোটি টাকা সহায়তা করা হয় ব্যাংকের পক্ষ থেকে। নমামি বরাক উৎসবেও ব্যাংক সাহায্যের হাত বাড়িয়ে দেয়। দুস্থদের কল্যাণেও সবসময়ই অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালন করে চলেছে স্টেট ব্যাংক।

October 2: Regional Office of State Bank of India (SBI) has taken in hand a host of programmes to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, keeping in tune with the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ project launched by the Government of India. On that day, the Bank employees devoted themselves in cleaning the road from the Bungalow of the Deputy Commissioner to Red Cross Hospital, Silchar.

Along with this, SBI has also decided to extend its helping hand towards the district administration. On Tuesday, they donated a garbage cleaning vehicle to the district administration in a programme which was organized in the auditorium of G.C. College, Silchar. The key of the vehicle was handed over to Municipal Chairperson Niharendra Narayan Tagore and veteran BJP leader Kabindra Purkayastha by Binoy Bhushan Das, SBI Regional Manager. The other officials of SBI were also present during the occasion.

It needs mention here that SBI has undertaken this endeavour under the CSR scheme. Prior to this, SBI has also involved itself with multifarious social service activities. The bank has donated an amount of 1.5 crore to Cachar Cancer Hospital. It has lend a helping hand during Namami Barak and many other programmes aiming at the upliftment of the poor and needy.
