বামপন্থাই শেষ আশ্রয়, নুরুল হুদার প্রয়াণ বার্ষিকীতে অভিমত
Special lecture organised to commemorate 3rd death anniversary of Nurul Huda

১৭ ডিসেম্বর : বিশিষ্ট বামপন্থী নেতা নুরুল হুদার তৃতীয় প্রয়াণ বার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে সোমবার শিলচরে এক স্মারক বক্তৃতা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। শিলচরের মধ্যসহর সাংস্কৃতিক সমিতির প্রেক্ষাগৃহে অনুষ্ঠিত এই আলোচনার বিষয় ছিল, ‘বর্তমান পরিস্থিতি ও বামপন্থী রাজনীতির প্রাসঙ্গিকতা’।

এতে বক্তব্য রাখতে গিয়ে বিভিন্নজন বর্তমান কেন্দ্র ও রাজ্য সরকারের শাসন নীতির কড়া সমালোচনা করেন। তাঁদের কথায়, কেন্দ্রের মোদি সরকার অনৈতিক কথাবার্তা বলছেন। আর রাজ্য সরকারও তার পদাঙ্ক অনুসরণ করে চলেছে। তাছাড়া দেশের বর্তমান আর্থিক পরিকাঠামো এই সরকারের আমলে অনেক অবনতি হয়েছে। বক্তারা জোর দিয়ে বলেন, ভারতবর্ষকে যদি একটি উন্নত দেশ হিসেবে গড়ে তুলতে হয়, তাহলে তা একমাত্র বামপন্থার আশ্রয়েই সম্ভব। কারণ বামপন্থীদের নীতিই সর্বোচ্চ নীতি।

পঞ্চায়েত ভোটে বিজেপির জয়ের ব্যাপারে বামপন্থী নেতারা বলেন, শাসক দল যেভাবে প্রচার করেছিল, সেভাবে জয় তারা পায়নি। বিশেষ করে যে জায়গাগুলোতে বিজেপির বিপুলভাবে জয়ী হওয়ার কথা ছিল, সেসব জায়গায় দলটি হেরে গিয়েছে। কারণ সাধারণ মানুষ বুঝে গেছেন, বিজেপি অনৈতিক নীতি নিয়ে শাসনভার পরিচালনা করছে। ফলে এ ধরনের নীতি আর বেশিদিন স্থায়ী হবে না।

এ দিন অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তব্য রাখেন, তপজ্যোতি ভট্টাচার্য, সম্পাদক দুলাল মিত্র, প্রাক্তন বিধায়ক দীপক ভট্টাচার্য, দুর্গেশ পুরকায়স্থ, দীপক দেব প্রমুখ।

December 17: An ex-MLA and ex-MP, CPI(M) leader from Silchar, Nurul Huda breathed his last three years ago on 17 December. To commemorate the exploits of this great leader, his party CPI(M) organised a special lecture entitled ‘The relevance of left politics in the present context’ at Madhya Sahar auditorium, Silchar on Monday.

The speakers highlighted the anti-people policies pursued by the present political dispensation, both at the centre and the state level. Speaking during the occasion, Secretary of CPI(M) Cachar district said that the present Modi government is busy misleading the people by issuing irrelevant statements. He criticised the BJP government at the centre and state for perusing an immoral agenda full of lies and deceit. Mr. Mitra further highlighted the economic slothfulness that has taken the nation in its grip. He attributed this unhealthy economy of the nation to the wrong policies of the present government.

Former MLA Dipak Bhattacharjee offered his rich tribute to Comrade Nurul Huda and said that in order to transform India into a developed country, the only plausible solution lies in following the left ideology. As regards the performance of BJP in the recently concluded Panchayat Election, it was highlighted that inspite of spending a lot of money in campaigning throughout the length and breadth of the state, the ruling party failed to uphold much support of the populace in terms of percentage of vote is concerned.

The speakers highlighted that the electorate has understood the immoral policies of BJP and their rule would not last long. Apart from Dulal Mitra and Dipak Bhattacharjee, Topojyoti Bhattacharjee, Durgesh Purkayastha, Dipak Mishra among others were present in the meeting.

It needs mention here that Nurul Huda was the first communist member from Assam to step into the Lok Sabha. A brilliant student in his schools and colleges, Nurul Huda did his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering with a first class from the College of Engineering and Technology in Kolkata, which later became Jadavpur University, in the early fifties. He got plush jobs in some reputed organisations as well. Instead of joining profession, he became a Communist Party member and got into active politics. An ex-MLA and ex-MP, CPI(M) leader, Nurul Huda became a member of the CPI-M Central Committee, and the party relocated him to Delhi in 2005 assigning him the charge of the Krishak Sabha head office there.
