BSF to rebuild its jawan Mohd. Anees’ home burnt in Delhi riots

February 29: The Border Security Force (BSF) has swung into action after it found out that its Constable Mohd Anees’s home in Khas Khajuri Gali area of northeast Delhi was which was among the hundreds of houses burnt down by rioters.

The BSF has offered help to the jawan’s father Mohd Munis, 55, uncle Mohd Ahmed, 59, and 18-year-old cousin Neha Parveen who were in the house when the rioters attacked them. The family lost all their life’s savings which is going to witness two weddings in the next three months. Neha Parveen was to get married in April and Anees himself was to get married the following month.

BSF located the affected jawan in the remote location of Radhabari in West Bengal, and immediately got in touch with his father. BSF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Pushpendra Rathore, who met Anees’ parents and his other family members at his home on Saturday, said that the border guarding force will rebuild the house and hand it over to Anees as a ‘wedding gift’.

BSF Director General Vivek Johri, said “We will provide financial help to the BSF constable and help rebuild his home. A team from the engineering department is at the site to assess the damage.” The border guarding force’s officials said they got to know about the damage to the constable’s parental house in Khajuri Khas from media reports.

The 29-year-old constable, who is currently posted at a BSF camp in Radhabari near West Bengal’s Siliguri, will also be transferred to Delhi “very soon” so that he can be with his family and prepare for his wedding, said BSF DIG Pushpendra Rathore. Constable Anees joined the BSF in 2013 and was posted in Jammu and Kashmir for three years. He is currently posted in West Bengal’s Radhabari.
