Cachar College to organise inter-college online art competition on World Environment Day

May 31: On the occasion of World Environment Day (5 June), Cachar College, Silchar will be organising an inter-college online art competition. Reimagine. Recreate. Restore. Together, these form the theme of World Environment Day 2021 on 5 June, a day when the UN seeks to focus the attention of investors, businesses, governments and communities on the increasingly urgent need to restore the Earth’s ecosystems.

Dr. Merina Islam, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy and the Programme Coordinator of the online art competition said, “On  5th June every year, we celebrate World Environment Day to promote awareness on what is needed to be done to protect our environment. According to United Nations,the celebration of this day provides us with an enlightened opinion and responsible conduct by individuals, enterprises and communities in preserving and enhancing the environment”. Ankita Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce is another Programme Coordinator of the online art competition.

Guidelines:

  • Choose any one Theme and draw your ideas
  • Give a suitable caption to it.
  • Draw on a paper, take a picture of it (No Filters), Send us using the links of Google form provided here with.
  • Click on the link or scan the QR code, fill in the google form, attach your artwork in any format (Preferably PDF, JPG) and submit the form.
  • Any kind of paintings allowed (Water, Poster, Oil, Crayons, etc)
  • Any students of any College can participate in the competition.

The programme coordinators informed that interested students of TDC can create an innovative artwork with a suitable caption. The best three Artworks with best caption will win prizes. The theme of the art competition are: Ecosystem Restoration; Our Earth, Our Home; Covid 19 and Environment and Pollution and Environment. Participants are choose any one of the theme. There is no entry fee.
