দলছুটদের দল হয়ে ওঠার গল্প, আজ পূর্ণ ১০ বছর
Dolchhut:The saga of a 10 years musical journey

একই বয়সের কিছু তরুণ। তাদের কেউ ভালো গান গায়, কেউ কবিতা লেখে, আবার কেউ মাইক্রোফোন হাতে নিজেদের কথা খুব সুন্দরভাবে পৌঁছে দেয় শ্রোতাদের কাছে। তাদের সুর-ছন্দে অনেক কবিতা গান হয়ে ওঠে। আর সেই গান গভীর আগ্রহে গ্রহণ করতে থাকেন শ্রোতারা। এভাবে কবিতা, গান ও কথার সরণি ধরে চলতে চলতে দলছুটরা নিজের অজান্তেই একটা দল হয়ে উঠল।

অথচ একটা গানের দল করার ভাবনা নিয়ে কিন্তু মোটেই যাত্রা শুরু করেনি এই তরুণরা। হ্যাঁ, দলছুটদের নতুন দল হয়ে ওঠার গল্প ১০ বছরের পুরনো। তখনও তারা গাইত, বাজাত, তবে সবই ব্যক্তিগত স্তরে। সংগঠনের ছাদের নিচে শিল্পী জীবন তাদের শুরু হয়নি। আর তা হয়েও গেল হঠাতই।

২০০৮-এর পুজোর পর এই তরুণরা ডাক পেলেন শিলঙে। সেখানকার লাবান হরিসভা পুজো কমিটির সম্পাদক প্রশান্ত শেখর চৌধুরীর আমন্ত্রণে শিলচর থেকে রওনা দিলেন। ১২ অক্টোবর ছিল তাদের অনুষ্ঠান। কিন্তু গিয়ে সমস্যা দেখা দিল সংগঠনের নাম নিয়ে। পুজো কমিটির কর্তারা তাদের কাছে নাম জানতে চাইলেন। তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে সবাই মিলে সিদ্ধান্তে পৌঁছে নাম দিলেন দলছুট। শিলচরের এই দলটিতে যে ১২-১৩ জন শিল্পী ছিলেন তাদের মধ্যে গায়ক বাজিয়ে নৃত্য শিল্পী সবাই ছিলেন। সব মিলিয়ে টানা তিন ঘন্টার এক মনোরম অনুষ্ঠান উপহার দিয়ে ফিরলেন তারা। আর এভাবে সবার অজান্তে শুরু হয়ে গেল দলছুটের সংগীতময় পথচলা।

এরপর শিলচরে এসে শুরু হলো আসল যাত্রা। পরিচিতদের সূত্র ধরেই কয়েকটি অনুষ্ঠানে আমন্ত্রণ। ধ্বনি সাহিত্য চক্র, শিলচর রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন রোড, অম্বিকাপুর পূর্বপাড়া পুজো কমিটি ইত্যাদি কয়েকটি মঞ্চে একের পর এক অনুষ্ঠান করে গেলেন। মানুষ তাদের গান শুনলেন এবং অনেকেই নির্দ্ধিধায় বললেন, যথাযথ অনুশীলন ও যত্ন করলে দলছুটরাই একটি সত্যিকারের গানের দল হয়ে উঠবে।

সঙ্গীত বোদ্ধাদের সেই ধারণা ভুল প্রমাণিত হয়নি। নানা ঝড়-ঝাপটা সামলে, অনেক চড়াই-উৎরাই পেরিয়ে আজ দলছুট সত্যিই এক নামিদামি গানের দল। বাংলা গানের দল। ১০ বছর পেরিয়ে অনেকটাই পরিণত। দশটি বছরে সদস্যদের মধ্যেও অনেক পরিবর্তন হয়েছে। অনেকেই ব্যক্তিগত ও পেশার কারণে দল ছেড়েছেন, আবার নতুনরাও এগিয়ে এসে কাঁধে হাত রেখেছেন। প্রতিষ্ঠার দিন থেকে এখনও দলে রয়েছেন দেবাশিস চক্রবর্তী, দিব্যেন্দু সোম, পাপলু দাস, শুভাশিস দেব,  রূপরাজ দেব, বিশ্বরাজ ভট্টাচার্য ও সায়ন বিশ্বাস। প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সদস্যদের মধ্যে ছিলেন বিপ্লব রায় চৌধুরী, অভিজিৎ পাল, স্বপন কান্তি কর, সঞ্জীব পাল, প্রলয় শংকর দাস, সত্যজিৎ বসু প্রমুখ। এদের অবশ্য এখন আর দলছুটের হয়ে মঞ্চে অনুষ্ঠান করতে দেখা যায় না। কিন্তু মঞ্চের বাইরে হলেও তারা দলের পাশেই রয়েছেন।

এর পাশাপাশি সংগঠক হিসেবেও এই ক্ষ্যাপা তরুণেরা নজির গড়েছেন। বরাক উপত্যকার মানুষকে ২১ জুন বিশ্ব সংগীত দিবসের সঙ্গে পরিচয় করিয়ে দিয়েছে এই দলছুটই। প্রতি বছর এই দিনটিতে তারা বড়মাপের অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন করেন। বলতে গেলে এক উৎসবের আকার নেয় এই আয়োজন।

১০ বছরের পথচলায় কম করেও ৩০০টি অনুষ্ঠান করেছে দলছুট। ইতিমধ্যে তারা চারটি ভিডিও অ্যালবাম উপহার দিয়েছে। এগুলি হল বেলুনওয়ালা, বকুল ফুল, শেষ পাইসে এবং ভালো আছি ভালো থেকো। এই অ্যালবামগুলো যথেষ্ট সাড়া ফেলে দিয়েছে। সায়ন, বিশ্বরাজ, পাপলুরা জানান, ভুলভ্রান্তি নিয়েই তারা শুরু করেছেন। কিন্তু মানুষ তাদের ফিরিয়ে দেননি। শহরের সাংস্কৃতিক অভিভাবকরা স্নেহ করেছেন বলেই দলছুট ১০ বছর পূর্ণ করতে পেরেছে।

১২ অক্টোবর, শুক্রবার ১০ বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষে শিলচরের ইলোরা হেরিটেজে এক অনুষ্ঠান রেখেছে দলছুট। শুরু হবে সন্ধে সাড়ে ছটা থেকে। এই অনুষ্ঠানে ‘আমার শহর’ গানের ভিডিওটি উন্মোচন হবে। হ্যাঁ, পাশাপাশি গান-বাজনাও হবে, ফেলে আসা দশটি বছরের স্মৃতি হাতড়ে বেড়াবেন তরুণ গাইয়ে বাজিয়েরা। ভাগ করে নেবেন আমন্ত্রিত শুভানুধ্যায়ীদের সঙ্গে। হয়তো কথার মাঝেই হঠাত গেয়ে উঠবেন তাদের সেই বিখ্যাত গান, ‘আমি বাংলায় গান গাই’। কিংবা শিলচরকে ভালবেসে ‘আমার শহর’। কারণ এ শহর তো তাদের অনেক কিছু দিয়েছে।

Craziness is perhaps one of the major ingredients for achieving something creative, something out of the box achievement, doing something ordinary in a most extraordinary way, something which the world would admire to be a class in itself. There is no dearth of examples in this world when craziness gave rise to some of the best creative achievement. Moreover, when it comes to creative excellence in the field of dance, music, literature, some amount of being crazy, being childlike yields great results. Such a rare and glaring saga of shooting to prominence can be witnessed in the musical journey of Team Dolchhut.

When did ‘Dolchut’ become a professional team of singers? This is perhaps one of the most difficult questions which even the teammates of this musical team cannot exactly answer. They did not start their journey with the intention of setting up a regular band. This young band of fiery youth when they performed together for the first time in Shillong long back in 2008, they too could not understand that that particular day would go down the pages of history as a red letter day in their life.

As their journey is a story of interesting events, similarly the name ‘Dolchhut’ was given all of a sudden which too has a story behind it. In 2008, one Prashanta Shekhar Choudhury, Secretary of Laban Hari Sabha Puja Committee, Shillong invited a few young boys from Silchar whom he knew sang songs in their individual capacity. On 12 October 2008, they were to perform in a chorus. But the problem which cropped up was that by what name the anchor of that particular programme would announce about their performance. The members of that Puja committee wanted to know the name of their group.  At once, they decided among themselves and instantly the name ‘Dolchhut’ was given to their group. Thus, was born Team ‘Dolchhut’ and the rest which followed in its trail is history.

On returning back to Silchar, they started to contemplate to move forward in life with their newly formed team. They urged upon some of their acquaintances who invited them to perform in certain localities of Silchar. They initially performed in the programmes of Dhvani Sahitto Chorcha, Silchar Ramkrishna Mission Road, Ambikapur Purva Para and so on. People listened to their songs and many of them predicted without any hesitation that if they rehearse properly then that day will be not far, when they will be able to establish themselves as a real music team.

History proved that those predictions made by many turned out to be cent percent true. However, it was not a smooth sailing. There were many ups and downs. They had to overcome many a storm in their musical journey. But what appears to be the key to their success is their will force and the ability to do something best. In this way, they have overcome 10 golden years. In these ten years, some of the team members have remained constantly in the team while few others had to part ways due to their professional involvements. Many new faces were alo inducted during the course of their long journey. The members who are there in the team since its inception in 2008 are Debashish Chakraborty, Dibyendu Shome, Paplu Das, Subhasish Deb, Biswaraj Bhattacharjee and Sayan Biswas. The founder members of Dolchhut who no more perform with them but still remains beside the present team are Biplob Roy Choudhury, Abhijit Paul, Swapan kanti Kar, Sanjib Paul, Pralay Shankar Das, Satyajit Bose, Soumyo Chakraborty and many others.

Apart from their own musical performances, Dolchuut has also emerged as music organizers. It was Team Dolchhut who has made the people of Barak Valley aware of the World Music Day by organizing programmes involving even amateur artists every year on 21 June. The programme which Dolchhut organizes on World Music Day assumes the character of a real festival.

In this span of 10 years of their journey, Dolchhut has performed in not less than 300 programmes. In the meantime, they have also released 4 music albums, which are Balloonwala, Bakul Phool, Shesh paiche and Bhalo Achi Bhalo Theko. These albums were successful in winning the hearts of many, especially the younger generation. Sayan, paplu, Biswaraj and others of their team has said that they have started their journey with bagful of mistakes. However, people have not returned them empty handed. The cultural guardians of Silchar has given them whole hearted support, guidance, love, affection and blessings for which Dolchhut was able to complete its journey of ten years.

On the occasion of their completion of 10 musical years of their arduous journey, Dolchhut has organized a musical show on 12 October, Friday at 6 in the evening at Ellora Heritage. They will also be releasing a music album entitled ‘Aamar Sahor’ on this day. Team Dolchhut is all prepared to enthrall the audience with some of their best numbers. They will also be sharing the stage with some other upcoming artists of the valley. Dolchhut hopes to make a new beginning when they can train themselves further and prepare themselves to set foot in their 20^th year in 2028 in a larger platform and amidst a huge conglomeration of music lovers.
