সাত বন্দুক সঙ্গে, তবু হরিনগরে গণপ্রহারে মৃত্যুমুখে ২ জঙ্গি

৩ নভেম্বরঃ সাত বন্দুক বস্তায় পুরে রওয়ানা হয়েছিল ২ উপজাতি যুবক। লক্ষ্মীপুর মহকুমার হরিনগরে জনতার হাতে ধরা পড়ে যায়। গণপ্রহারে গুরুতর জখম অবস্থায় তারা এখন জয়পুর হাসপাতালে চিকিতসাধীন। এমনই অবস্থা যে, অজ্ঞাতপরিচয় যুবকদ্বয়ের নাম বলারও সামর্থ নেই। জঙ্গলের রাস্তা ধরে ডিমা হাসাও জেলা থেকে তারা কাছাড় জেলার লক্ষ্মীপুর মহকুমার হরিনগরে পৌঁছেছিল।

বনধ চলার খবর সম্ভবত জানা ছিল না তাদের। নইলে যে কোনও গাড়ি ধরে পৌঁছে যেত গন্তব্যস্থলে। গাড়ির জন্য যখন ফাঁকা স্ট্যান্ডে ইতিউতি করছিল, তখনই স্থানীয় জনতার নজরে পড়ে, বস্তা ফুঁড়ে বেরিয়ে আসছে বন্দুকের নল। ঘিরে ধরে তাদের জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করলে অসংলগ্ন উত্তর মেলে। তাতে ক্ষুব্ধ জনতা মারপিট শুরু করে।

এর আগে অবশ্য বন্দুকভর্তি বস্তা নিজেদের কবজায় নিয়ে যায় তারা। যুবকদ্বয়ের সঙ্গে কোনও আগ্নেয়াস্ত্র না থাকলেও বস্তা খুললে বেরিয়ে আসে  সাতটি বন্দুক, একটি পিস্তল, একটি চিনা গ্রেনেড ও ৬৬৯ রাউন্ড গুলিবারুদ। পুলিশ সুপার রাকেশ রৌশন জানিয়েছেন, সেগুলি বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়েছে। সাত বন্দুকের মধ্যে রয়েছে ৩টি একে ৫৬, ১টি চাইনিজ এলএমজি, ১টি ১২ বোর সিঙ্গল ব্যারেল রাইফেল ও ২টি ৫.৫৬ এমএম রাইফেল।

কাছাড়ের জেলাশাসক এস লক্ষ্মণন জানিয়েছেন, এরা কোনও জঙ্গিগোষ্ঠীর ক্যাডার। তবে কোন জঙ্গিগোষ্ঠীর তা এখনও নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি। ঘটনাস্থলে ছুটে গিয়েছেন উধারবন্দের বিজেপি বিধায়ক মিহিরকান্তি সোম। স্থানীয় জনতা আসাম পুলিশ ব্যাটেলিয়নের সেখানকার ক্যাম্পের বিরুদ্ধে ক্ষোভ প্রদর্শন করে। বন্দুক ধরার খবর পাঠালেও এরা গুরুত্ব দেয়নি, আসেনি কেউ, এমনটাই অভিযোগ সাধারণ মানুষের।

November 3: Two tribal youth were apprehended by the public at Lakhipur. They were carrying with them around 10 guns. The mob thrashed the two alleged terrorists to such an extent that they are at present in the mouth of death. They have been thrashed by the angry mob to such an extent that they are even not in a position to speak up anything.

They came to Harinagar in Lakhipur sub-division of Cachar district of Assam on foot through the forest from Dima Hasao district. Most probably, they were not aware of the ongoing bandh or else they could have reached their destination boarding any vehicle. When they were waiting and searching for vehicle at the empty stand, locals spotted them. People suddenly saw the pipe of guns coming out of the sacks which they carried with them.

This made the locals certain that something fishy was there and so started questioning them. When they gave unrelated replies, people were all the most certain that they were terrorists and so started to beat them. But before that, locals took over the sacks full of guns from them. Though the two youth caught did not carry any firearms in their body, but when people opened the sack, they were wonder struck to find AK 47, AK firearms, live cartridges etc.

 

Police was informed. Police reached the spot and took the arms and ammunition in their custody. Dr. S. Laksmanan, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar has informed that they are in all probability cadres of any terrorist organization. Police Super Rakesh Roushan rushed to the site. Local people demonstrated anger towards the camp of Assam Police Battalion over there. Though the public sent the information of seizing firearms, yet the police of that camp neither came to the spot nor gave any importance to it.
