Maternity deaths & child death review meeting chaired by DC Cachar

Sept. 20: Maternity Deaths & Child death review meeting was held on Saturday which was chaired by Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. The meeting was attended by Sumit Sattawan, ADC (Health), Joint Director of Health Services, all BPHC Incharge, SMCH doctors, BPMU & DPMU staff of National health Mission. Few cases of fatalities have been reviewed by the authority and other related health parameters were also discussed

After threadbare discussion, a plan of action was developed to reduce the maternal deaths and child deaths in the District. It was opined that the referral cases from two other neighbouring districts of Karimganj & Hailakandi and even from North Tripura, Manipur are contributing for Maternal & Child deaths. DC Jalli stressed for High Risk Pregnant Women (HRPW) wise follow up & monitoring by Health Department staff, timely referral of HRPWs, activation of ASHA network at Community level, strengthening the services at delivery points including SMCH, more community awareness and mobilization for voluntary blood donation mainly from the family members of pregnant women.
